Back in 2001, the government gave the commercial and national broadcasters digital licences so they could run more channels with a better quality picture. Goolarri television has not yet been given a licence to go digital. If we don’t get one soon we will have to stop broadcasting altogether.
Digital television is free to watch; all you need is a digital TV or set top box. The Australian Government wants viewers to buy digital TVs now as they plan to switch off the old analogue signal in 2013.
