Kimberley Girl Participants 2010

KIMBERLEY GIRL YOUNG WOMEN'S LEADERSHIP & DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM - PARTICIPANTS
Kimberley Girl is about leadership. It is about giving young Indigenous women the tools to realize their potential, to empower them in their endeavors, to give them the confidence to dream big and reach for the stars. Kimberley Girl is about giving participants the Wings to Fly.
Kimberley Girl is also the search for young women who truly reflect the diverse culture, history and heritage of this unique and beautiful region. Join us in 2010 as we take Kimberley Girl throughout the Kimberley and Pilbara in this exciting young women’s leadership & development program.
Since 2004 the Kimberley Girl program has been cultivating leadership qualities in young Indigenous women from around the Kimberley. In 2010 Kimberley Girl gets bigger and better as we head out throughout the Kimberley and Pilbara regions bringing Kimberley Girl to the communities of Kununurra, Fitzroy Crossing, Broome and Roebourne.
In 2010 the Kimberley Girl program has expanded into 13 week personal and professional development program, culminating in participation in a local Kimberley Girl heat in your community, with the chance of then representing your community in the Kimberley Girl fianl in Broome.
This program will include training in the Certificate 1 in Gaining Access to Training and Employment (GATE) which includes subjects such as Communication for Living, Career Development, Technology for Living, Enterprise and Personal Development. You will also participate in specialised workshops with professional Kimberley Girl trainers in areas such as deportment, makeup, hair and healthy bodies.
If you are a young Indigenous woman between the ages of 16 and 25 and you live in the Kimberley or Pilbara, now is your chance to be involved in this exciting and widely acclaimed program. Build confidence, self esteem and pride through workshops and stand tall and proud on the catwalk showing the world the beauty of our local Indigenous women. 2010 programs will be taking place in Kununurra, Fitzroy Crossing, Broome and Roebourne from July.
KIMBERLEY GIRL 2010 is proudly brought to you by Goolarri Media Enterprises, Indigenous Coordination Centre Broome, Kimberley TAFE, Pilbara TAFE, Virgin Blue Airlines and is supported by Nyaarla Projects.
